Yes, Mary is the super nice person helping me @ the farmers market. She also reminds to get out of the house & go for a jog.
Mary, if you are out there do not stress about the "natural flavor" gluten I am sure that means they cannot guarantee the source. Since you don't have major wheat allergy/condition it is nebulous.

No more gritty cakes - life is getting more & more deliciuos, Cherbourg added two more cakes, not on the website yet, but coming soon: tres leches, & black & white coffee cake.
Also, now here's a good friend, my friend Mary has gone Gluten Free just to see, support, & generally be adventurous & she is on day number three. Thanks Mar you don't have to do this, but I can certainly help with any sweet attacks.

New Albany Farmer's Market August 14th

Cherbourg Bakery will be at the New Albany Farmers Market August 14th. It is a morning to early afternoon market, so I will have a few breakfast-type options: Zucchini bread, Jelly Roll, Rosemary Polenta Cake, & of course all the other GF cookies and cakes, that I prefer for breakfast. If you can eat a pancake soaked in syrup, why not a chocolate chip cookie?

Cupcakes baked inside an Ice Cream Cone

Hey here is a super fun treat that is a crowd pleaser for birthday parties. I tried it out last week and they are great. GF Cupcakes baked inside a GF Cake cone. I decorate them with white icing to look like ice cream with sprinkles on top- adorable!

Tomorrow we are getting 6 lbs of butter from a group of farmers in Utica, called Ohio Organic Family Farms. The cows are grass fed and the butter is truly butter yellow, major omega 3's. We use their milk @ the bakery now & I am super excited to bake with their butter. mmmm...butter.....

Gluten Free Farmers Mkt Pick of the Week

The Pick of the Week, lucky for us, is Strawberry Shortcake Cookies: I think this may be the last week for good local strawberries though, so eat up.

I am open to ideas for next week's pick. I am thinking there will be Zucchini, and maybe some fresh cherries, possibly something savory with local herbs at the farmers market.

Had fun at the street fair - we sold a lot of baked goods to mainly repeat customers, so that was promising. Cherbourg Bakery is no longer using any wheat flour in the kitchen. The menu is so unique for gluten free it is really more like gourmet gluten free baked goods. We have:

Shouldn't there be a better name for it? Gluten Free makes me feel so much better. I have energy all day long. I am on a campaign to change the name so that is does not sound that we are living devoid of something.
